Alexander C. Redoņa
Hi, I'm Alex,
WELCOME!
We are ancestral landowner in some areas of this tropical islands, our
ancestors migrated here as the original inhabitants in the island long before it was became domesticated
by settlers.
Now, it is a full blown community
of fisher folks living in a simple native society miles apart from urbanity.
Suddenly, local government
decided to develop it into a world-class tourist destination allowing Multi-million Land developers to surpass the area. Luring
island folks to sell party of their lands mostly in the Coastline areas and Turn it into Expensive yet costume designed cottages
attractive to the visiting tourists.
We just dreamed of a simple living
and preserve our land.Because of its vast Development, our family decided that instead of just setting aside we are
now looking into possibilities knowing that we have no power to overcome the situation.
And as one of our family
descendant, I have decided to turn unlikely things around. I have convinced my ancestors to use our lands and make it into
Island Resorts. Side-by-side with the Big time Resort owners, we will make it into a cheaper yet one of the best fully accommodating
Island Resort of our own.
With small investors
lined up to be part-owners, we definitely stand tight to
compete with the neighboring Giant Resorts believing that great hospitality
most attracts tourist rather than expensive accommodation yet ending only in the same kind of
service.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Guiuan is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Eastern Samar, Philippines. As of year 2004, it has a population of 43,647 people in 7,618 households.
Guiuan is a significant
part of the Philippine history. In the 16th century, when Ferdinand Magellan discovered the Philippines, it is believed that
he first landed on the island of Homonhon. It is probably because of this fact that the majority of the population of the
town are devout Catholics and the town's church, the Church of the Immaculate Conception, is one of the oldest in the country.
During the Second
World War, Guiuan served as one of the Alliance's bases. What's left of the American occupation nowadays are just concrete
slabs which once served as the foundations of a vast supply depot, and an air strip which now serves as the town's own airport. Besides the rich historical background, Guiuan boasts many
beautiful scenic spots including white sand beaches. Being a coastal town in the Pacific side, the town is blessed with many
beaches that are perfect for swimming and surfing.
